Her practice services infants through adolescents with a variety of feeding/swallowing difficulties and speech delays. Alyssa also performs community/professional education workshops. \nAlyssa’s specialization is working with the pediatric population with feeding/swallowing challenges. She has worked in a variety of settings\, including outpatient centers\, early intervention in family homes\, school settings\, acute care\, and sub-acute facilities. Alyssa worked at the world-renowned Rusk Rehabilitation Center at NYU (NICU\, PICU\, general pediatric floor and outpatient center). \nAlyssa received her B.S. in Hearing and Speech Sciences from Ohio University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. In addition to the contest (and tasting afterwards!)\, we’ll have kids’ activities and lots of peach-themed items from our vendors. \nIf you’re an amateur baker with a favorite peach pie recipe\, read on to find the contest rules and other basic information below. \nREGISTRATION AND RULES: \nAll New Jersey residents are welcome. All ages are welcome to submit\, but you must be an amateur baker\, not a professional baker/chef. \nParticipants can submit home-baked peach pies or peach cobblers using Jersey peaches; no other dishes will be accepted. \nCompleted entry forms should be e-mailed to farmsintheheights@gmail.com  with the subject line “Peach Pie Contest.” \nEntrants can also register and submit pies at the Market on the day of the event\, at the registration/info table\, until the 11:30 a.m. preferred deadline on Sunday\, August 18th. No entrants will be accepted after 12 pm!!! \nBy submitting your dessert\, you are allowing the Riverview Farmers Market and New Jersey Peach Promotion Council to publish photographs of your dessert on their websites and in related press releases. \nRemember\, you must be a NJ resident and a non-professional baker (i.e.\, you do not make desserts for income/payment). \nJUDGING & PRIZES  \nJudging will start at noon on August 18th. Three winners will be selected by four local judges. DESCRIPTION:Workshop for New Parents: The Do’s and Don’ts of PostPartum Fitness\nComing up on May 18th at 11 am: Workshop for New Parents: The Do’s and Don’ts of PostPartum Fitness with Meghan Mizrachi! \nYou were cleared to return to exercise at your six week check up\, but your doctor didn’t give any instructions or guidance on how to do it safely and effectively. Maybe you’re still wearing an abdominal brace or you’re worried you have an abdominal separation. Maybe you’re still having some leakage or back pain? or perhaps a sense of heaviness and are afraid that working out will make it worse. Maybe you tried to dive back into your routine but found that things didn’t feel quite right.  \nThis lecture with Meghan Mizrachi is designed to provide clarity on the steps to take after pregnancy\, in order to have the confidence to achieve a pain-free lifestyle and reach your fitness goals. She will cover screening for diastasis\, the truth about sit-ups\, advice about postural behavior\, the best exercises for core strengthening\, and safe exercise progressions. \nThe workshop is held at our JC Fitness Fair at City Hall Plaza\, Jersey City. \nRegister HERE. \n\nAbout Meghan\nMeghan holds her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mercy College and her BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. Meg is passionate about fitness and wellness. Prior to becoming a PT\, Meg spent three years dancing professionally in NYC and abroad. She then transitioned to running half-marathons and teaching strength training classes. Most recently\, her experience as a mom has led her to extensive coursework in pelvic floor dysfunction\, with an interest in diastasis rectus abdominus and postpartum fitness.  Meg’s greatest desire is to help clients reach their goals and achieve their greatest functional capacity. \nShe currently works for Zion Physical Therapy\, a private outpatient physical therapy practice that prides itself on providing unparalleled service that is hands-on\, consumer-driven and evidence-based. \nThe workshop is non-refundable and non-transferable.
