DESCRIPTION:JC Kids Obstacle Run 2019\nJC Kids Obstacle Run 2019: Calling all KIDS from 4 to 12 years old for The JC Kids Obstacle Run 2019 on Saturday March 9th 2019. \nPLEASE NOTE: Registration is CLOSED. We will not be selling tickets at the door.  \nJoin JCFamilies and Wildly Fit  for our first ever JC Kids Obstacle Run! The kids will explore fun and challenging age appropriate obstacles as they race through the course with their designated age group. The participants will use their body and muscles balancing\, jumping\, carrying items\, crawling\, and running while conquering obstacles set up for their age. \nIn order to run the event smoothly\, we have some guidelines for everyone\, so please read carefully:\n\n– Parents need to collect runners bibs 30 minutes before their child’s scheduled run time.\n\nSCHEDULE: *please note: the JC Obstacle Run includes the participation from many kids and sometimes due to different circumstances the schedule may change.\n\n10:00 am: Check In Starts\n\n10:30 am: Age group 4 years old\n\n11:15 am: Age group 5 years old\n\n12:10 pm: Age group 6 years old\n\n12:30 pm : Age group 7 years old\n\n1:00 pm: Age group 8 years old\n\n1:20 pm: Age group 9\,to 12 years old\n\n– Parents must sign a waiver before the run.\n\n– All Kids must attend the warm up session before they run.\n\n– Parents/viewers will not be allowed on the course before\, after\, or during the run. There will be designated areas for parents/viewers to watch the race.\n\n\n\n– Age groups may be divided into heats to avoid overcrowding\n\n– All kids will get a medal at the end of the run.\n\n– The winners of each heat will get a trophy.\n\nVery Important: No parents\, caregivers\, or family members will be allowed on the track before\, after\, or during the run. If this rule is not followed\, the child will be disqualified and no refund will be given.\n\nAfter completion the runners will get water.\n\n  \nHere’s a little sneak peak of some of the obstacles your kids can expect on our course: \n \nDelicate Balance: The floor is lava\, and the only way across is to balance! \n \nMission Impossible: Get across without getting caught in the wires! \n \nFeisty Fences: Get up and over the fences to keep running the Obstacle Course .  \n \nSpider Crawl: Stay low and move quickly to avoid getting caught in the web. \n \nSloth Hang: Hang like a sloth using both hands and feet from the metal beam and pull all the way across. (Psst: This one’s tricky\, so there will be soft mats to catch any racer who doesn’t make it to the end). \nThe event will take place indoors at The Cordero School at 158 Erie St\, Jersey City\, NJ 07302. \nParents will be asked to sign a waiver at the day of the event while checking in. All parents that have registered have received an email with instructions and time schedule. If you have not received your email\, please let us know at admin@jcfamilies.com.  \n\nAll JC Kids Obstacle Run participants will receive a medal. DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Jersey City Ward Tour will take place on Sunday\, June 3\, 2018\, at 11:00 and will start at City Hall in Jersey City\, NJ http://www.bikejc.org/events/jersey-city-ward-tour\nWard Tour sign-in and bib pickup begin at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall\, located at 280 Grove St. in downtown Jersey City. Please arrive early enough to wait in a line or two\, pick up your bib and pin it on. We recommend arriving no later than 10:00. We will all line up for the start at 10:45 and begin riding promptly at 11:00 a.m.\, in one large group. Helmets are required for all participants. Only riders 12 and over are allowed to ride individually in the Ward Tour. Younger riders can ride on an adult’s bicycle (in a seat\, trailer\, etc.). Adults\, please register all kids coming with you too! \nWe’ll ride about 16 miles on streets closed to traffic\, with a police escort. We’ll make a clockwise loop around the city\, at a relaxed pace (10 mph)\, taking breaks\, and returning around 1:00 p.m. to the finish. There we’ll continue to celebrate cycling all afternoon at our Finish Line Festival on the Hudson River waterfront\, including the Lutze Biergarten\, featuring live music\, food and drinks\, vendors and other attractions. \nPlease read all of the information in the Ward Tour Waiver Form when you register and fill in all required fields. \nYou must agree to the terms of the waiver and conditions on the registration page to participate. \nRegistration is free\, with a $5 suggested donation to fund our year-round efforts to make cycling better\, safer\, more accessible and more fun in Jersey City. \nPLEASE NOTE: This year’s Ward Tour & Festival is officially a rain-or-shine event. \nWe’ve realized it’s just too big and complex to organize it twice\, and we can’t get permits twice\, get a police escort twice\, etc.\, for a rain date. \nSo we will ride June 3 even if it’s raining\, in any weather that’s not dangerous\, or simply cancel till next year for any that is (e.g. lightning\, hail\, very high winds\, plague of frogs …). SUMMARY:Fitness Competition in JC Fitness Fair 2018
DESCRIPTION:Feeling strong in your workout?  Show us what you’ve got at the JC Fitness Fair in Jersey City on May 19th (10am-2pm).  We’ve got competitions and great prizes!  And if you’re looking to jump start your fitness routine\, lots of local health and fitness professionals will be in attendance to answer your questions and demo their workouts/classes \nThere will be 2 (two) sessions of the JCFitness Competition 18:  10:30am and 1:00pm \nThe competition consists of a 5 station circuit and includes the following: \n\n1 min sit ups\n1 min burpees\n1 min push ups\n1 min squats\n1 min shuttle run\n\n\nEach time slot will have a maximum of 10 individuals and each station will have 2 participants.\nParticipants need to be 18 and older\nParticipants can only enter in one time slot (either 10:30am or 1:00pm)\nParticipants need to sign a waiver when signing in for the competition on the day of the event.\nThere will be one (1)  judge with 2 participants at each station.  Participants will remain at each station for 2 min (1 min to compete\, 1 min to rest while their paired competitor competes).  After 2 min\, all participants will rotate to the next station.\nThe winner is the person who completes the maximum overall # of sit ups\, burpees\, push ups\, squats and shuttle runs in 5 minutes.\nFirst and 2nd place finishers in each session will win a prize.\nPrizes may include:  free massage session\, free acupuncture session\, healthy meal subscription\nIt is FREE to participate\, but athletes MUST register ahead of time. Please\, complete the attached form if you want to participate. DESCRIPTION:Post-Partum Depression support Group in Jersey City \n“Out of the Blue” \n85% of women feel some sort of mood issues after delivering a baby.  This can be feelings of sadness\, guilt\, anxiety\, or just feeling “unwell”. \nIt’s very important that you speak to your physician about this\, but it’s also nice to know that other mothers have the same feelings and struggles. \nWe would like to provide a forum where mothers can share feelings and experiences in a caring\, non-judgmental atmosphere. \nFor The first few Post-Partum Depression support Group in Jersey City will be attended by a local primary care Dr. Ritu Sharma to help facilitate the conversation and answers any questions or concerns you may have. This safe space will become a gathering place for moms to connect\, discuss challenges\, and support one another.
